Gender Resource Center (GRC)
The Gender Resource Centre (GRC) of Chengalayi Grama Panchayat is a panchayat-level committee working to ensure the safety of women and children, necessary legal support, social empowerment, vocational training, and mental health protection.
(1) Prepare the Grama Panchayat's Women Component Plan (WCP) on a sound and rational basis
and ensure that it is effectively implemented.
(2) Organize the activities and undertake the necessary interventions required
to improve the social status of women in the area.
(3) Understand the status and position of transgender/intersex
persons residing within the local body's jurisdiction and undertake
activities and interventions to improve them.
(4) Undertake interventions to make local self-government institutions and component institutions
gender-friendly.
(5) Conduct a gender status/women's status study.
(6) Provide support for training, awareness, counseling, etc., required for the activities of the Vigilance Committee.
(7) Provide expertise, support, coordination, training, etc., for all gender-related activities
within the jurisdiction of the local self-government institution.
